Hai guys...jumpa lagi dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Untuk persiapan Ujian Sekolah akan diulas kembali beberapa materi yang sudah kalian pelajari. Untuk pertemuan hari ini, akan mengulas materi Descriptive Text. Selamat belajar ya .... semangat....

DESCRIPTIVE TEXT

TUJUAN :

menjelaskan atau mendeskripsikan orang, tempat, binatang, ataupun benda secara spesifik.

STRUKTUR TEKS (GENERIC STRUCTURE) :

- Identification: pengenalan objek atau hal yang akan dideskripsikan.

- Description: penginformasian ciri-ciri objek, misalnya sifat-sifat psikologis perilaku, tampilan fisik,                            dan yang lainnya secara spesifik.

UNSUR KEBAHASAAN :

Descriptive text biasanya menggunakan unsur kebahasaan sebagai berikut:

- Noun: kata benda yang spesifik, misalnya my best friend, my dog, Borobudur Temple, dan lain – lain. Selain itu, terkadang juga menggunakan kata benda yang mendapat pemberian kata sifat, misalnya an intelligent student dan a big garden.

- Simple present tense: menggunakan kata kerja bentuk pertama (verb1) dan juga kata kerja yang dapat menggambarkan keadaan objek atau mengisyaratkan kepemilikan, misalnya my house has 2 living rooms, Sinta is beautiful, dan lain – lain.

- Adjective: kata sifat digunakan untuk menjelaskan objek, misalnya beautiful, clean, big, dll.

Contoh :

                                                                  My Rabbit

I have a rabbit. I call him, Coney. I make a big hutch for him.

His fur is white and has black spots. He has long ears and a short tail. He also has cute red big eyes! My rabbit likes to eat carrot and other vegetables. When I release my rabbit out of his hutch, he used to jump everywhere and hard to catch. So, I could just put him on his cage because I'm afraid that he might running away. I don't wanna lost my rabbit because I love him very much.

Michael Jordan certainly looks like a star. He is tall, well-built and handsome, with friendly brown eyes and a wide grin. He always manages to look well-dressed, even in his casual clothes or smart suits.

His personality, too, is as outstanding as his playing ability. Michael is a very determined person. This has made him a successful basketball star. He has given lots of money and support to charities.

All in all, Michael Jordan is not only a great athlete, but also a warm, caring person. Is it no wonder that so many boys have dreamed of growing up to be just like him?
